Bill: School Prayers act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Hobrazia Democrats
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: July 2357
Description[?]:
Whereas many Hobrazians feel the added value of the Lords teachings, we feel that some Hobrazians actually feel offended by teacher-led prayers in schools. We also feel that it is not the state to encourage or discourage any religion whatsoever. Therefore we propose: - The schools should decide themselves whether they would include teacher-led prayers or not. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The government's policy with respect to prayer in schools.
Old value:: Teacher-led prayers in schools are encouraged.
Current: Teacher-led prayers in schools are encouraged.
Proposed: The government leaves this decision up to the schools themselves.

Message | The Lord Hoba, through the teachings of The One True Voice, Alan be Praised, is the one and only hope for salvation of the soul and as such it is the duty of government to encourage our children to follow this path to save their souls from torment. We would also point out that, on technicality, should someone not wish to pray they are not forced, they are merely encouraged to do so with the teacher and thusly the rest of the group. We would also ask, just because you don't believe in the Lord Hoba and the teachings of the One True Voice, Alan be Praised, and are likely to spend your future in torment, why should teahers not be allowed to pray with their classes. Why should such a thing be forbidden? Is this not removing choice, something this bill pertains not to do. OOC: Okay, now we re-start a crusade. Can all parties please try and write bill descriptions that actually describe something, not just one line statements, and can people also try and leave bills in debate at least for a short period. It does make the game more interesting for all. (I'll excuse you because you've just joined and have never been involved in this Country before...I don't think... and welcome to Hobrazia!). |

Message | WSS!P is right. We cannot deny governmental certified salvation and redemption to the citizen. Plus, the One True Voice, Alan be Praised, is always right and we do not disagree with his teachings. We know He also wants us to be eloquent, for the words are our means of giving and receiving mutual comprehension among us believers and misbelievers as well. OOC - No seriosuly, WSS!P is right. However, we think that sometimes there is not really much need to write 10-lines long descriptions - like the WSS!P does (and we praise his efforts) - as very often there are subjects that have been discussed to the core (that's politics, afterall) and it feels redundant. |
