Bill: Budget proposal of February 2359

Details

Submitted by[?]: Likaton Coalition of the Willing

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill proposes to change the allocation of funds in the budget. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 2359

Description[?]:

The Likaton Independent Thought Party propose to adjust the government's spending budget to better address the economic and social situation of the Free Republic of Likatonia.

We feel that this Budget reduces spending in key areas, but in order to boost employment, we have invested heavily in both Trade and Industry, and our Military.

We will be looking to utilise our military to train key skills, so that leavers can enter the job market with imprived value, both for themselves, and for the ecomony and community at large.

We must emphasise that the additional resources allocated towards defence are to give our brave men and women the skills and training they need, and not an investment in greater headcount, or in arms.

MessageInternal affairs includes police spending, and while the rest of the budget is acceptable enough to us that we would, in a spirit of compromise, consider voting in favor, the huge cuts in the police force and the surge we would therefore see in the crime rate force us to vote no.
