Message | No, no, no, no, no. Local governments are bureaucratic nightmares that can't stop arguing with themselves about how and where a public toilet should work or be placed. Leaving important issues such as fire prevention and library funding to local government risks public safety and education whilst providing no improvements in service quality. |

Message | National governments also tend to be bureaucratic nightmares. Our opinion is that things should be dealt with at the level the closest to the citizien. If the problem needs national coordination, we propose that. Fire prevention is best done at local level by the local fire fighters. Would you send a fire-truck from the capital to each corner of Hobrazia ? |

Message | National governments tend to be less bureaucratic nightmares than local governments as they tend to have less of the local baggage to contend with. Local firefighters already work in their locales, but the current system also allows for easy transfer of fire engines and equipment from one area to another as need arises, something made far more difficult to do outside of a national body. |

Message | We will support this motion. We cannot understand this notion of local governments being more "bureaucratic." If the government is closer to the individual, there will be more pressure put on the gov't to be efficient. |

Random quote: "The European Union and environmental advocacy groups use global warming hysteria to advance their own special agendas. The European Union recognizes any significant reduction in CO2 emissions by the United States will significantly reduce its economic output, thereby bringing it closer to the inferior output of European nations. Environmental advocacy groups work to stifle economic and industrial progress wherever they find it to inhibit the successful advancement of peoples in developing nations, inevitably making mankind a second class citizen of planet Earth." - Dr. Jay Lehr |
