Description[?]:
Okay so The Flash is starting up a courier and money order business, and he calls it Cash in a Flash! Get it? But see he's pissed because he's considered a private post agency, and so he has to compete with the national post office. Flash has to pay taxes and pay high wages to workers, which he's cool with, except the national post doesn't have to pay (instead taxes are given to them!). Flash has to make a profit to survive, the national post has a budget and can lose all sorts of money. The Flash can't even use people's private mail boxes! The guy can run around the planet 7 times a second but he can't keep up with the government monopoly of the post office!! I thought the government's job was just to protect people and provide courts and justice, not go into business and pass laws that guarantee they have a monopoly?! When the socialist villains bitch about corporate imperialism, this must be what they're talking about! We should end government monopoply! |

Message | There is no law stating that the government has a monopoly, nor does it say anywhere that private posts cannot use private mail boxes. The national post is not required to make a profit, but is required to submit a budget to the agencies responsible for state corporations and to meet with reasonable demands (like breaking even). Finally, the national post is required to provide service equally to all citizens, regardless of how profitless the service in an area might be. Thus, private posts will often have a business advantage because they can choose to operate only wihtin profitable areas. |

Message | Okay I told the Flash he can start using mail boxes, but he's still upset. Of course there's no law that admits the national post gets a monopoly, but the law gives it a monopoly nonetheless. You said the national post has to provide equal service to everyone, so to service the poorest of the poor, it's gotta be cheaper than snot. No way the Flash could compete with that, he'd go outta business real quick, so how does the post afford to stay afloat? You say they submit for money from national agencies responsible for state corporations. Where do these agencies get their money? From our national revenue service. AND where does the revenue service get their money?? From the taxes that people pay the government. SO in this huge indirect roundabout way, people actually are paying for funding the entire post office, and since it's through taxes that they have to pay, they can't even choose to use the Flash instead. Heck that sounds worse than a legal monopoly... forcing everyone to pay for your business sounds more like something mobsters do, not something the government should be doing. The breaking even demands of the national post is frankly a moot point. The Flash says the whole running at the speed of light thing means he can do it faster and more cheaply than the government can. So why is he being forced out of business by our laws like in this bill? |

Message | Post remains an important part of the running of the country that the government has a legitimate part in. Read the DPR's argument - I'm sure they say what I want to but can't be bothered typing. |

Message | You mean that post above mine that was thoroughly refuted? Why is it so important that the rest of the country can't be trusted to handle it ourselves? |

Random fact: Cabinet ministers who disagree seriously with the head of government would usually be expected to resign. Parties within the cabinet may attempt to manoeuvre to replace the head of government though, for example by proposing a new cabinet bill or voting for an early election. |
