Bill: Axis Mundi Revolution Agenda - Faith is a Family Business
Details
Submitted by[?]: Commonwealth Workers Army
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: September 2364
Description[?]:
As we have explained elsewhere - we appreciate the right of all citizens to choose their own religious destiny. However - we believe that, while such activities are populist and visible - while there is pressure to conform, there is no freedom in the choice. In order to protect the individual right to choose religion, we must make it a private matter, between each Likatonian and their own god/goddess/gods/godesses. |

Message | If religion is banned, it is not even a private matter. There is no provision for even the private practice of worship in this bill, and no protection against the state bursting down the doors of a family to arrest them in their own homes, just because the start a meal with a simple grace. This statist intrusion on private belief must not be allowed to pass! |

Message | We do appreciate the concerns of the AM RLP, but we see no better alternative. Hopefully the simple wording of the legislation: "In order to protect the individual right to choose religion, we must make it a private matter, between each Likatonian and their own god/goddess/gods/godesses..." might be anough to ensure that the spirit of the law be fulfilled, even if the letter of the law might later be debated. |

Message | Article 3 prevents it from being a private matter, and thus we must vote against it. We should discourage religious superstition, but in the end we must accept that people have a right to do stupid things like worship. |

Message | The LFFR stated position is to wipe out Religion, no qualms about supporting this fantastic initiative. |

Message | It is a shame this bill seems set to fail. Perhaps, a Golden Dawn may follow the next election... |
