Bill: Axis Mundi Revolution Agenda - Saving Likatonia for Tomorrow

Details

Submitted by[?]: Commonwealth Workers Army

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 2364

Description[?]:

The Axis Mundi Revolution feels tears in their collective eyes every time they see the way our once beautiful nation is being despoiled in the name of profit margins.

Something must be done to ensure that this Likatonia, that we fight for day by day, is something WORTH leaving as a legacy to the children of our children.

MessageWe could support Article 3, but not the rest of this bill.

We would like to note that anything like Article 1 is unnecessary so long as we require tree replanatation; and we do. In the long term, new trees must replace any felled to logging. Thus, forests are protected on a long term basis.

MessageWhile we appreciate the sentiments of the PLPL, they are... unfortunately... misplaced.

Article One is necesary for a number of reasons - the extent to which Likatonia has ALREADY been deforested being a prime concern. And - while forest protection falls under the remit of 'local' organisations, we can never be sure of how effective our ecological intentions are in being applied.

Last thought - replanting on a one-for-one basis is a step in a direction - it is not a solution. If you cut too heavily, you have no old growth, and a mass of immature trees. Not a realistic proposition for continued ecological sustained initiatives.
