MessageWe're in favours of articles I and III. I'm afraid we can't accept article II. Not because we have any ideological disagreements with the current international treaties on this subject, but because we think that subordinating the principle of national law to international opinion sets a dangerous precedent.

MessageThe international convention on the treatment of prisoners of war is the First Laloquon Convention. That's Laloquon, Yodukan, Holy Luthori Empire - a former capital of our great Holy Empire. It was also drafted by a Luthori party.

OOC: Us not signing the Laloquon Conventions would be like Switzerland refusing to sign the Geneva Conventions.

MessageThat convention was drafted, and supported by parties that did not have the best interests of the Holy Empire in mind, and have long since faded into nothing. To support it, is treason.

Random fact: Voters have an extra appreciation for bills that actually get passed, so if you want to maximally take profit from your votes, make sure you compromise with others.

Random quote: "John Burroughs has stated that experimental study of animals in captivity is absolutely useless. Their character, their habits, their appetites undergo a complete transformation when torn from their soil in field and forest. With human nature caged in a narrow space, whipped daily into submission, how can we speak of its potentialities?" - Emma Goldman
