Message | We believe in synchronisation between the legal age of school-leaving and the age one is recognised as an adult, so one of the current bills has to change. Would we have the MLP's support if we upped our proposal for the age of maturity to 21? |
Date | 02:13:11, March 05, 2007 CET | From | Catholic Workers Union | To | Debating the MLP Education Progress Bill |
Message | You wouldn't have ours if you did. 18 is ideal for both values. |
Date | 07:35:01, March 06, 2007 CET | From | Imperialist Party | To | Debating the MLP Education Progress Bill |
Message | The Imperialist party protests this bill in the strongest possible terms. Raising the age of school-leaving will be detrimental to our farmers, and our military, both of which are reliant largely on younger individuals. Furthermore, filling our schools with students that do not want to be there will decrease the quality of learning that takes place. The purpose of high school is to provide a board from which individuals can go into other pursuits - not all of which require education (some may, for instance, require on-the-job training). |
