Bill: Decorum in the Imperial Council
Details
Submitted by[?]: Imperium et Libertas Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: February 2370
Description[?]:
1. The Imperial Council is made up of many different parties, with varied political opinions. This is a good thing, as it allows us to represent the population of the Holy Empire fully. 2. As is natural, sometimes political disagreements can become emotive between these parties. 3. However, as the public representatives of the Holy Empire, we are honourbound to conduct ourselves in a gentlemanly manner. 4. It is wholly possible to strongly disagree with another party, while still keeping one's language within the realm of basic diplomatic niceities. 5. In the past, some parties have allowed their passion to carry them away, and have indulged in undiplomatic language. 6. We unreservedly condemn this and call for all parties to conduct themselves in a civilised manner, now and in the future. |

Message | We need to be satisfied that this does not prevent us from identifying traitors, heretics and witches as such, before we can consider voting for it. |

Message | Absolutely. To describe a traitor as such is fair play, assuming you can back that up with hard facts. And we're confident you wouldn't make that accusation without evidence. Call a heretic a heretic. Just don't call him a mongrel. |

Message | Besides, gentlemanly conduct is only applicable to gentlemanly parties. If a party is not in this category, it would be a simple formality to propose a statement withdrawing the protection of this act from them... |
