| While it is rightly the right of all free citizens of this country to donate funds to political candidates they support, this may have undue effects on the decisions of politicians. This act seeks to make all political donations anonymous, such that recipients cannot tell who is supporting them financially, and thus, cannot be influenced to act against the national interest by special interest groups. Article 1 The government of the United Macon Commonwealth of Telamon hereby creates the Campaign Finance Clearinghouse. Article 2 All donations to political candidates and parties, shall first go to the Campaign Finance Clearinghouse. Article 3 At the end of each three-month period, all funds donated to a particular party shall be given to the party, without any indication of who donated, and in a lump sum alongside all other donatons. Article 4 Should an election be called before the conclusion of a three-month period, parties shall gain immediate access to all funds that have been donated to them, but without indication of the source of those funds. Article 5 All existing lists publishing information regarding the receipt of funds from donors shall be ceased. |
