MessageThe TCP will not support this proposal.
Firstly, the TCP, whilst they do in fact advocate at least some form of protection for the environment, sees this proposal as being very blunt, irrational and ill-thought out. For one thing, this sudden change in legislation will single handedly render most of the car manufacturing businesses bankrupt, effective immediately. Yes, these manufacturers may be able to design a car that uses environmentally friendly fuels - but what of the millions, and billions of already made cars sitting in storage waiting to be bought? The TCP suggests that it would be economic suicide to pass this bill; not only from the perspective of millions of cars literally being thrown on the scrap heap, but also from the perspective that it costs twice to three times the money to both manufacture AND buy these cars. Yes, the TCP can see the evidently honourable ideological thought processes behind this bill - the environment is of course very important, but the TCP feels that this bill, whilst it would mean that environmental conditions would sky-rocket, would also be economic suicide. And with a failing economy obviously comes an imploded nation.

MessageWe cannot see any reason in the TCP's reaction! We wish to remind the TCP about what happens with old businesses like textiles industry - they cease to operate. What has happened now only speeds up the process - obviously we do not have unlimited amounts of oil at our disposal, so we would have to eventually transform. It is absurd to say that it is economic suicide, for such structural changes happen all the time. The technology exists already, the workforce is educated and we see this only as a boost of innovation and research on this field, which will actually have a positive long term effect as there will be new jobs on the market and the newly established companies will be more competitive on the international market when alternative energy cars will be a necessity throughout Terra.

Random fact: In cases where players introduce RP laws to a nation and then leave, Moderation reserves the discretion to declare the RP laws void if they appear to have fallen into disuse. In particular, please bear in mind that a player who is inexperienced with Particracy role-play and has joined a nation as the only party there should not generally be expected to abide by RP laws implemented by previous players who have been and left.
