Bill: Arms Export Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Imperialist Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: February 2372
Description[?]:
It is vital to the economic and military standing of our economy that we allow Telamonian defence industries to begin exporting abroad. There are a number of advantages to such an approach: Firstly, in times of war, it is always helpful to have a domestic arms industry that can meet the needs of our military. Relying only on domestic profits in peacetime, our defence industries are too small: if we were to be attacked, there would be a need for considerably more defence plants, and very little time in which to construct them. Secondly, the ability to export weapons abroad gives Telamon a greater ability to influence the course of international relations. We can affect wars, rebellions, and the like, ensuring that outcomes benefit our national interests. Thirdly, this will provide jobs and income to the economy of Telamon. Every party that truly cares for the interests of the workers will join me in passing this bill. |

Message | It's not like if we don't sell them arms they aren't going to get them - if they want 'em, they'll get 'em. So why not be in on the market and make some cashmoney? |
