Message | We propose this so as we can have give the parents the right to choose what kind of diciplinary environment is right for their child. Seeing as we give them the right to choose their own schools it is redundant to disallow all schools from harsher forms of dicipline. Well you may dislike the idea of striking children in school some parents may very well want or need their childs behaviour mended in that manner and as we have no laws agianst spanking etc i see no reason why we do not allow the parent the choice. Seeing as if they do not like striking or others striking their child they can send them to a school that doesent. By doing this we are forcing nothing upon our people only giving them choice and since they not we are the ones raising their children i think they can make the proper choices. |

Message | Not at all. We utterly reject this proposal, and would hope others would follow. This bill could see discipline levels vary wildly, especially in isolated schools. (OOC: Pop density means there's gotta be some...) |

Message | The legislation clearly states that SCHOOLS set discipline standards. They dont have to listen to parents' wishes. It really shoots your bill down that. |

Message | Yes they have to listen if they arent meeting the needs of the parents of the area no one goes to the school and they are forced to conform to a new standard that the parents accept or shut down and a new school tkaes its place.(OOC: They are doing this exact same thing in my area all it does is give choice to the people o.O O.o.) |

Message | We do not agree, all aspects of education should remain under federal government regulation, especially such a delicate matter. |

Message | Also if your child is so poor in its deportment than this is a reflection on the parents. |
Date | 07:33:15, July 25, 2005 CET | From | Family First Party | To | Debating the Dicipline Choices Act |
Message | Without evidence to support an assertion that the current system is not working, or that the proposed system is better, we will have to vote against. |
