Message | ***HUTORI TELEGRAPH*** Well, the Right is Right Party promised a shift in their social policy, and today they delivered. Party spokesman for Health and Social Services, John Wilkinson, today presented a bill to His Majesty's Most Royal and Serene Parliament, concerning drugs use. The Party has, since its formation, been vehemently opposed to the legalisation of any non-medical drug. Gasps were heard throughout the chamber, as Mr. Wilkinson read out the Party's proposals to legalise all drugs, and end regulation over what citizens can put into their bodies. He said to Members of Parliament: "We live in an age where the rights of the individual should prevail. Why should the government or the state tell citizens what they can or cannot smoke or inject into their own bodies? It is absurd. So long as it does not harm others, it should be allowed." Mr. Wilkinson is believed to have wanted this reform since entering the Party, but due to its old conservative policy, was unable to publicly declare so. But the recent Emergency Conference, led by Deputy Leader Ron Major, voted overwhelmingly to change to a more progressive stance. Margaret Wright, former Prime Minister Glorious, and from the traditional wing of the Party, sat next to Mr. Wilkinson as he delivered his bill for reading in the chamber, showing the unity that remains in the Right is Right Party. If this enormous change is anything to go by, the Right is Right Party must have a few surprises up their sleeves...! |

Message | [Spin zone!] Philip Davis spoke about the latest RIR annoucement said "The RIR has clearly lost its way. The party is being pushed by extremists. Wilkinson is a drug adict and the people do not want to be led by drug addicts. Clearly, the people of Hutori need to be very afraid of the RIR and men such as Wilkinson." [Politics of fear, baby!] |
