Bill: IP Secular Society Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Imperialist Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 2375

Description[?]:

This bill aims to withdraw the dangerous collusion of church and state in various areas of public policy. Religious tax exemption should only apply to charitable activities, which are essentially in the pursuit of the public good as a whole. Other proceeds, serving the organizational purposes of ministers and the church as an organization should be taxed as they would for any corporation.

As for public servants, they should be impartial representatives of the state. Wearing religious paraphernalia may discourage citizens from going to them for help, and takes away from the view that they are impartial. Telamon must be first in their concerns.
