Message | Well, if I could debate it I could tell you. I hit the wrong button when I was trying to put in the proposal. But yes, I think it will, as the liberterian alternative is to allow schools to make up this decision by themselves, and not to make prayers illegal. |

Message | Allowing schools to make up this decision by themselves would allow schools to make children pray and punish those who don't, regardless of the faith of those children. I think it is in the best interest of the freedom of religion to vote 'no' on this bill. |

Message | Besides it's always wrong to make children pray each morning in school. |

Message | By allowing some state schools to have their teachers lead prayer, we would compromise the individual liberty of students. In private schools however, where perhaps specific religious values are focussed on, organized worship should of course be allowed. Of course, a ban on teacher-led prayer doesn't affect the rights of individual students to pray or worship. Teachers forcing prayers upon their students in state schools is bound to cause religious friction. What if the teacher was a Zarathustrian but most of the class were Cthulu cultists? |

Message | Abosolutely nothing is done to 'require' students to vote, it mearly allows the option for them to vote. As it stands now, not even a vague "let us pray for our dead classmates" after a horrible accident is permitted. Such a draconian forbidden alternative is nonsense. |

Random fact: Players consent to the reasonable and predictable consequences of the role-play they consent to. For example, players who role-play their characters as committing criminal offences should expect those characters to experience the predictable judicial consequences of that. |
