Current: Private companies operate regional TOC's. The national service is provided by a publicly owned, national TOC.
Proposed: The State owns and operates a national TOC, alongside private TOCs.

This will produce far greater results than the public monopoly currently in existence. Transportation companies could create lines that go all across the nation -- there is not a requirement for purely local private lines -- and free competition will improve service, not worsen it. |
