Bill: The User Pays for Commute Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Aldegar Freedom Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: June 2383
Description[?]:
The True Conservative Party does not believe it is fair that certain members of society who earn less than others should have free use of the commute, whilst others must pay for it. This is not fair, under any circumstance. Regardless of what one earns, if they want to use the commute, it is hardly too much to ask them to pay an absolutely minimal fee for a ticket. If they don't want to pay for a ticket like everybody else does, then quite simply, they cannot use the commute. It is absolutely unfair that, just because one earns a reasonable amount of money, they should have to pay for a ticket whilst others get free admission. This warped, obscure version of 'equality', that may be viewed as 'fairness' by certain parties, is not shared by the TCP. The TCP believes in an equality of burden - regardless of how much one earns, the user should pay. The TCP hopes that other parties can see the injustice in current legislation and that they can see the common sense in the article that the TCP has proposed in this bill. |

Message | Hm, we wish that this was debated a little bit more, but we can only blame ourselves due to the fact that it was up for debate for several days. Unless a debate persuades us, we'll oppose for now due to the idea that if those low income people can't gain transportation, they can't work, and that would only hurt our economy and put those citizens into a deep hole. |
