Bill: Child-benefit
Details
Submitted by[?]: Zywiec Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 2381
Description[?]:
By giving all families child benefits we are encouraging our population to grow. This policy does not make sense. Our population can grow through immigration and the birth rate. We do not need to encourage further growth through a child benefit. Low income families can retain this benefit as this will help keep children above the poverty line. |

Old value:: The state guarantees child benefit to all families.

Message | Universal provision of child benefits has several advantages; it removes the stigma associated with receiving the benefits, it makes sure the children who need the benefits actually receive them and encourages a younger, growing population. |
Date | 22:31:04, March 26, 2007 CET | From | National Party Of New Endralon | To | Debating the Child-benefit |
Message | I agree. |
Date | 05:40:16, March 27, 2007 CET | From | Zywiec Party | To | Debating the Child-benefit |
Message | Giving child benefits to families who do not need them is a waste of our taxpayers money. Why not just let everyone pay less tax rather than it being handled by the government then mailed back to families? |
Date | 10:25:01, March 27, 2007 CET | From | Communist Workers Committee (KCCP) | To | Debating the Child-benefit |
Message | We have more than enough tax money to pay for these measures so why not use the money available to us? |
Date | 14:43:26, March 28, 2007 CET | From | Zywiec Party | To | Debating the Child-benefit |
Message | Why not lower taxes?! |
Date | 15:28:23, March 28, 2007 CET | From | Communist Workers Committee (KCCP) | To | Debating the Child-benefit |
Message | So this is again all about personal greed from the zywiec party |
Date | 20:09:18, March 28, 2007 CET | From | National Party Of New Endralon | To | Debating the Child-benefit |
Message | Personal greed? How? I'm sure we can divert the money saved from this to the military, or education |
Date | 21:13:53, March 28, 2007 CET | From | Zywiec Party | To | Debating the Child-benefit |
Message | How is allowing people to keep their money personal greed?! Passing it through the hands of the government shrinks the amount of money through waste and corruption. There is no need to take in this money just to give it back to our citizens. |
Date | 22:23:42, March 28, 2007 CET | From | Communist Workers Committee (KCCP) | To | Debating the Child-benefit |
Message | The zywiec party is again ignoring the advantages of child benefit and instead pursues the nonsense "waste" argument which makes no real sense. |
Date | 11:02:18, March 29, 2007 CET | From | Endralon Socialist Alliance | To | Debating the Child-benefit |
Message | We have more than enough money to keep it as it is - I see no reason to change. |
Date | 12:31:18, March 29, 2007 CET | From | Fiji's Party of Muliebrity | To | Debating the Child-benefit |
Message | People who really really don't need their child benefit should be given the option of giving it back to the state. Most people however could probably do woth the extra money. Have you any idea quite how much raising children costs. I disagree with this change. We CAN afford this. |

Random fact: "OOC", "IC" and "IG" are commonly-used acronyms in Particracy. "OOC" refers to comments, discussions and actions which are out-of-character, meaning they are done player-to-player rather than party-to-party. "IC" refers to in-character interactions (ie. party-to-party). Similarly, "IG" means in-game, although this term may also simply refer to what happens in the actual game interface, as opposed to on the forum or elsewhere. "RP" just means "role-play". |
