MessageI forgot to mention that the advertising permission is intended only to be a formality for major religions; it's really only aimed at preventing cults and fundamentalist religious groups advertising in such a way.

MessageWhy is 1 bad?

You wouldn't allow a school to be established which promoted only a communist viewpoint, so why one which promotes only a religious one?

School education should be reserved for facts. If people want to teach their children religion, it can be done at church and Sunday school, but something unproven (and indeed quite probably unprovable, either way) such as religion should not be taught as anything but an opinion in a school environment.

MessageDoes this mean you would advocate opening schools which promote a racist viewpoint, so that racist parents can send their children there?

MessageI can practically hear that point flying over your head...

Why it is necessary for religious schools to exist. If people want to teach their children religion they can do so in their church/mosque/temple. These religious OPINIONS should not be allowed to bias the FACTS children are taught in schools.

Incidentally if you read most religious texts they promote all kinds of worrying viewpoints.

MessageI have a feeling that, no matter what is said here, people's viewpoints on the issue are too deeply ingrained to change, so I'm putting this to a vote.

Random fact: Cultural Protocol bills must provide a real-life equivalent or short description for the ethnic groups, languages and religions contained in them, such that it would be easy for an unfamiliar player to understand (e.g. "Dundorfian = German"). Where appropriate, they should also provide guidance to players on where to find help with translations and character names. This might include, for example, links to Google Translate, Behind the Name's Random Name Generator and Fantasy Name Generators.
