Bill: Government Responsibilities
Details
Submitted by[?]: Selucian Nationalist Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: September 2382
Description[?]:
The SNP believes that the healthcare system should be 100% publically owned. If there is even the remotest competition, valued and talented doctors will follow the higest paying jobs, usually found in the private sector. Therefore the government should take over and make public these private clinics. Concerning Illegal Aliens The government cannot allow illegal aliens to reside and work in our nation and take advantages of our healthcare and education system. Therefore the SNP believes that all those who have not applied for citizenship should be sent back to their originating country. This does not include those finding refuge in times of war in other countries. The SNP believes that these are important elements that the government should take care of, but does not hurt take away from our budget, nor does it weaken our economy or deface our great country. Please consider as they are positive changes and can only lead to a strong and unified nation. |

Therefore the government should take over and make public these private clinics. Concerning Sales tax As much of the foods are subsidized, the government should tax, only slightly the food industry, not even half of luxury tax. It is a small, almost insignificant fee for the citizens, but a good income for the nation. Concerning Illegal Aliens The government cannot allow illegal aliens to reside and work in our nation and take advantages of our healthcare and education system. Therefore the SNP believes that all those who have not applied for citizenship should be sent back to their originating country. Message | Ladies and Gentlemen, We are shocked to see the members of the SNP wants to raise the sales taxes on essential food. Thou taxation is the matter of the finance ministry and thou we know the government subsidize the agriculture sector partly it is of the most important interest to offer our beloved citizens a cheap and easy way to use and produce essential goods. As island based nation and the open sea as borders it will be hard for all immigrants to enter out Empire be it as illigal or legal alliens. Further all citizens have to carry ID cards which also allows all public services to find out whether or not a person is a legal or illigal person. By ship or by plane, as the only possible was, all immigrants have to arrive and we doubt to swim the distance of the open sea will be so wise nor did we ever hear about such a try. Further it will only take away our police forces from their duties and bind them for "search and expel" missions which only harms the overall goal, the Empire's security. "a small number of private clinics, which are heavily regulated" -- we doubt this small number and such heavily regulation will see lots of well educated and smart doctors. Public health care shall handle public health, yes, but we doubt beauty chirurges shall be part of the public systems and do their jobs in the few heavily regulated privet clinics. Currently our public systems work on the most fields of health care but not in all because nat all has to do with the public health. Do we need to pay for the daugthers widh to have bigger boobs ? Or to have a smaller nose? Maybe to loose some weight? Of course not as long as these fields have nothing to do with the public health. A car accidents and your face is the pure horror? The public clinics will help ! But for the personal beauty wishes the citizens shouldn't pay with their rax money. |

Message | The Revolutionary People's Army can do nothing but to vote against such bill. First of all, the proposals differ to much from one to another. We would, of course, vote favorably on the national health care bill (since we have proposed it two years ago!). But increased taxes on primary need goods is against all that we stand for! Why would tou even consider such thing? First you want to lower the retirement age, so people pay less taxes and are bigger collectors of the wellfare, and then you want to compensate by taxing their food? The RPA cannot condone such mesures! About the illegal aliens the RPA would like to mantain the debate as our position is not fully formed. Why not take that proposal into your other proposed bill? they would make more sense together and we could debate all the aspects of immigration. This matter is extremely sensitive, as our country peculiar territory demands a well structured immigration policiy! The Revolutionary People's Army |

Message | The taxation is so insignificant to the citizens that it becomes a trivial matter to them but it aids us in the sibsidization of agriculture. But i see there is too much oposition as is on the matter that i will take down this bill, but I will bring up the Immigration Bill elsewhere. The SNP remains firm, but as there is too much opposition at the time being, we will back down respectfully. |

Message | Also, what the ISP points out is a seperate matter, it has to do with what the public insurance will offer rather than where the procedure will be undertaken. Just because they are public institutions does not mean that such operations are covered by the universal government healthcare system. It simply means that those who wish to have an enhancement or an estetical change will not be covered by their public insurance and therefore will not be paid for by taxpayers but rather by the person in question. The SNP has revised its bill and had deemed it to be true that the tax on essentials should be kept at a minimum. We ask that parties revise the edited bill and keep in mind that these are important changes on maintaining the integrity of the nation, and will help in the long run. |

Message | As our position, and our request was not listen to. Not even the request to prolongue the debate for an extra day, the RPA as no option but to vote NO to both propositions and apeal to all other partys to vote NO as well untill we have proper debate time on such important matter. The lack of respect of the Selucian Nacionalist party towards the People's Army is seen by us as total disrespect towards democracy, democratic political debate and an offense to the spirit of the law in our great country. We appeal to the Emperor and to the cabinet to take mesures in guaranteing that all parties are heard when debating such important matters! Not only the bill is formely wrong, by mixing diferent proposals of completely different matters, our political factions were not given time to pronounciate about them! Vote NO! Give the debate time to grow! Do not aprove such radical bills without at least trying to reach mutual consence... The Revolutionary People's Army |

Message | ooc: i'm sorry, I actually forgot it was this bill that was meant to be prolonged. I apologize and meant no disrespect. Please reconsider, as we still have several months (perhaps a day in RL) to continue debate. once again, I meant no disrespect. |
