Message | Just let it take place in a licensed casino... At least there, you don't have to worry so much about the games being crooked. Plus seedy back alley casinos, will more then likely boost crimes, wouldnt they? |

Message | Gambling in their homes is their fine...this bill references more to back alley casino's not playing around with your friends. -.- |

Message | Uhh, not it doesn't. The police are not going to check everybody's home for what they are doing. This is not a police state. We would only shut down, unlicensed casino's that generally go for a profit. Aside from Religious Countries, Gambling is legal in your home, provided it is not meant for a profit, and mainly screwing around with buddies. |

Message | No, in the US in some states it is illegal to run a tournament even if there is no profit by the person running it. And They will arrest you if you are playing high stakes stuff with your buddies. A football player was arrested a couple years ago in florida because he was playing with his buddies at his home. |

Message | And if this bill has nothing to do with private homes, then why does it mention it in one of the proposals????? |

Message | The only article i saw was on a player named Fuller. Provided that is who your talking about, he drew too much attention, so that what he was doing was illegal. Exchanging thousands of dollars? That is already casion level gambling. I am talking about paltry sums, where people exchange 10 dollar bills. And where does it mention it in one of the proposals...? |

Message | This is the list of proposals for this bill ----------------------------------------------------------------------- The right to gamble. Proposed value Gambling is illegal. Gambling is legal across the nation, no regulation what so ever. The legality of gambling is a matter of local governments. Currently: Gambling is illegal unless taking place in a licensed casino. Only small-scale gambling is allowed, involving limited amounts of money; casinos are illegal. Gambling is legal, but only in private homes and casinos with special licences. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The last one mentions private homes. If this bill has nothing to do with private homes, then why does it mention it. And the next to last one basically allows it in private homes, but does not allow any companies (casinos) to have gambling. And what if I want to exchange big amounts of money with friends? Should only poor people be allowed to gamble? If a few millionaires want to play in thousand dollar pots, why shouldnt they? |

Message | So fine, go with the last option, much better. That way one, can gamble in their home legally, and government sanctioned casino's Change it to that, and i'll agree |

Message | No. I will; not be seen supporting back-alley casinos as this would allow it. |

Message | Upon further thought, we do not agree to the concept of casinos. Just private gambling mainly......... We apologize for the misleading, if it matters. |

Message | At least in government inspected casinos we can inspect the casinos in cheating matters, supporting private gambling will allow seedy amateur casinos to open on every street corner. |

Message | I feel that if there were a limit put on the amount one could gamble (which could be a percentage of one's yearly income or net assets, whichever the gambler preferred), it would solve most of the issues a lot of the dissenters seem to have. Unless the definition of "private homes" is grossly abused, I don't see the scenario PM seems to be describing happening any time soon. As it is, we must vote against this bill. However, with the previously outlined changes made in a future bill, we would be much more likely to offer our support. |

Message | I dont see the problem with so called "back alley casinos". If people are stupid enough to go to one, then that is their fault. Its not like anyone wins at slots at a real casino anyway. Poker and possibly a couple other card games I'm not familiar with are the only games you can actually win at over the long term. So either way you lose money. I just want to be able to play poker at home with some big stakes. |

Random fact: Any RP law granting extraordinary "emergency powers" or dictator-like powers to a government must be passed by at least a 2/3rds majority, but (like all RP laws) may always be overturned by a simple majority vote of the legislature. |
