MessageMost farmers are insured to cover most such failures. However, subsidies that help stablize the effect of market prices is a must. If a particular crop drops to levels unsustainable for that farmer, it can ruin them.

MessageCurrently, our subsidies are handed out according to need, IE. farmers with crops with low market prices will recieve subsidies. Of course, these subsidies are NOT going to make a cheap crop very profitable, but they will allow farmers the income to support a family (and the ability to actually shift crops rather than be forced to sell and cut their losses).
