Details
Submitted by[?]: Imperial Party of Selucian
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 2387
Description[?]:
The current situations on Terra be it in Beitenyu, Rutanen and Luthor and the radical religious movements around us let us propose this change in our current law. Thou it is always better to know who receives our weapons it might be necessary to back up movements we don't count as close allies. We really want to change this law but if there are arguments against this change we encourage our fellow senatores to speak and bring them on the floor. Do we have other options ? |

Message | The SPSP has a point of inquiry? Would this change in regulation increase or decrease our arms exports. We support a decrease, and would even support a increase, providing regulation is strict enough to prevent arms sales to a belligerant nation (ooc, i feel really weird using the word support when i have a total of zero votes) |

Message | During the Rutanen-Dorvish War most of our exports were sent to Dorvik and some are also going to Hobrazia. Beside this we support our allies in the defense alliances but more case by case, depending whether they are in need or not. The main concern is and should be how to protect our Empire's interest. Beitenyu is an good example to show how things can go worse here. First jewish radicals, now islmic radicals and a "christian Luthori crusade". All this at the border of our ally Pontesi and within our sphere of interest. Then a radical islamic movement in Pontesi with lunatic leaders which could increase our support for Pontesi. We think it is better to support those who can back up our interests before we have to send our legiones into a such regions. As for the question of regulation only Dorvik, Kanjor and Hobrazia received weapons of the newst generation while in the most other cases the wepons were of the last generation but still effective and adequate for the situation. The point with arms sales is to decide. Shall our arms or our soldiers go into a conflict ? We would like to see our weapons first before we send our men. ====== ooc-- I know 0 seats are not a lot to influence something on the first view, but on the other side you influence the meaning others will get and this can count more on the long way then on a short track. It is like with visibility, you got a good position you wanted to have and the laws are ike you wished so you needn't to change anything and your visibility declines and your stance goes the wrong way. That's one of the reasons why players create bills just to vote against |

Message | Thank you for the clarification. The SPSP can see most of your points, and wholeheartedly agrees that sending soliders should be a final resort, and that sending arms is preferable. We support this measure. (ooc-thanks for the advice. How long before my party starts to have opinions and visabity?) |

Message | ooc-- Hmm, depends whether you will vote on all bills and whether you are creting bills. You get a very, very small bonus for self created bills. Further it will help to get visibility in more then just a few opinion bars. Since the game machine was upgraded for the voting process it takes longer to get seats. If all goes well you will need two elections to see the first results. If you are just sporadic active it will take a longer time. Nether the less we always integrated also newbies into cabinets here to give them some possibilities since I am here. So to speak long term governments seem to be a mess on the first view but offer you the time to build up the visibility of your party. August 2383 we had the last elections and by law it will take a while but I think I will ask for early election 2386 or 87 to see the first results for those who are staying here since a while. Out of nowhere lots of players come to Selucia at the moment :) |

Random fact: When forming a cabinet, try to include as few parties as possible, while still obtaining a majority of the seats. |
