Granted, socialists might actually claim that it favors the rich over the poor, but how expensive ARE contraceptives with the amount of naturally expected competition in the market? Besides, it means a fair amount less burden of cost on the government, and it opens up new markets for the private sector. |

Message | This has nothing to do with wealth, it's simply common sense. Supplying contraceptives to people reduces unwanted pregnancy massively, and it helps prevent STD outbreaks a great deal. |

Message | Indeed, I would agree. However do note that the contraceptives would essentially be supplied, and thus there would be no problem for citizens to obtain what is needed. The only difference is that the onus of supply is placed on the more than capable private sector, and that the government has millions, perhaps billions to spend on other areas where the private sector cannot cover for. |

Message | However, this would make contraceptives cost money. Those who need contraceptives the most are the poor families who cannot afford to raise children, and making these unavailible to them because they can already hardly afford to pay for food is a poor choice, at least in my opinion. |
