Bill: Redefining Age for the Modern Era

Details

Submitted by[?]: The Progressive Green Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: March 2389

Description[?]:

This party believes that a retirement age of 50 and an adult status at the age of 13 are somewhat outdated. These ages were best suited in the Middle Ages. Kalistan should move into the future, where human beings live to the age of 80, and new research on adolescents show that the human brain is not fully developed until the age of 21.

MessageWe are flexible on the retirement age, but we will not support a proposal to raise the age of adulthood, as we believe in allowing the most voting power possible.

MessageThe age at which a person is considered an adult does not singularly impact voting. Can we, in good conscience, apply the same legal responsibilities and penalties against a 13 year old child? To be cliche, "With great power comes great responsibility." At such a young age, a child should focus on his/her own development, and not be burdened by the responsibilities of adult life.

Also, is everyone in agreement with the retirement age? This bill will go up to vote tomorrow (real time.)

MessageSo in other words, the millions of Kalistani's between the age of 13 and 20, you not only want to disenfranchise them, and remove thier political power, but you also want to take away all the basic freedoms they have enjoyed?

It is the RFP's unwavering goal to protect hte individual freedom of Kalistanis from the encroachment of tyrrants and fascists.

Random fact: Moderation reserves the discretion to declare RP laws invalid if the players supporting them are doing so in an excessively confrontational way.
