Message | Have you costyed this proposal? If these taxes would return a suitable surplus then we would be delighted to support. |

Message | The income tax reduction totals just over 900 billion DRA; one point of luxury tax is worth just under 9 billion, so a rate of 15% should be just under 130 billion. A 15% tax on non-luxury items would bring in a few hundred billion more, while a good part of the income tax savings will be recouped in further revenues from sales taxes. There should be enough revenue raised under this proposal. (If there is not, then we can always cut some spending (as we have been repeatedly trying to do) or raise the sales tax to perhaps 18%.) |

Message | I find it amusing that since New Theta Finance spokesperson Elfman declared her plans for a new tax system your original plans have now seemingly been scrapped. We will not agree to this. FPP, you are a total liability and should resign immediately. |

Message | We have said all along that we wanted to shift from income tax more towards consumption tax. We had put forward a couple of proposals doing that, but they were always defeated. Later -- we hoped more palatable -- proposals didn't pass either, so we decided to try our original plan again. Your Finance critic's words did influence us, yes -- we knew that there was at least one party who had the same overall plan as we did. We hoped & expected that you would support this measure, but it seems that politics is more important to you than actually getting done what you want to get done. OOC: Could not eliminate income tax entirely -- entering '0' in the proposal is not recognized. |

Message | You wanted to take the credit for Elfman's ideas you mean! Filthy Welsh-lover! Prepare the chambers at once, Mr Stone cipher! |

Message | We are awaiting the delivery of some particularly potent nerve gas as we speak. |
