Bill: IP Treaty Withdrawal Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Imperialist Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill proposes the withdrawal from a treaty. It will require half of the legislature to vote in favor[?]. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: December 2390
Description[?]:
I ask that Telamon withdraw from the Ledea convention, for a number of reasons. Firstly, it is unclear to me what the value of this treaty - signed by no other countries - is beyond simply having such laws. Secondly, it prevents us from having extradition treaties - which could lead to major diplomatic problems in the future. Thirdly, in times of war, it may be advisable to maintain the death penalty for certain crimes - such as crimes against humanity. What if, in a war against nuncirism, we captured the enemy commander - surely you would not want to let him live, knowing the evils that might be committed if he ever escaped. |
Proposals
Article 1
Withdraw from the Ledea Convention for the Abolition of the Death Penalty.
