Bill: Industrial Hemp Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Ducal Delegation

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 2087

Description[?]:

Aldegar has no regulations at all on the use of industrial hemp, which means the raw material often falls into the wrong hands and is abused as a drug. Some commentators want industrial hemp production banned altogether but we suggest a sensible middle course: let us permit the production of industrial hemp, but insist upon rigid regulations to prevent the possibility of industrial hemp production encouraging drug abuse.

MessageWhy don't we legalize softdrugs and their production? That is a lot easier.

MessageThere is a separate legislative option to change the legal status of cannabis. I don't think our electorate would react generously to a party which supported legalisation, however...

MessageWe back this bill, but would in no way back legalisation of cannabis. That would not be the way to solve this problem of drug abuse.
