| Message | To continue the discussion with the RiR party: 1. We very much doubt that the primary target for a rapist is to produce a baby. The victim of the rape will always have to live with the consequences, be they physical or psychological, as every victim of every crime has to. Nevertheless, you can't possibly blame the unborn child for the rape, as it is as innocent as the victim (if not more innocent that the victim). 2. As all will know, abortions cause heavy psychological burdens, regardless if the abortioning mother is for or against it. Anyway, if abortions are that difficult, it would be the first target of the state to reduce those difficulties, and not to kill the unborn child instead. 3. Of course would the unorthodox methods be worse. But it's the same as if you'd say, that the state needed a governmental assassination service. This service would kill people for a certain amount in an elaborate manner, without having them to feel any pain at all, etc. If you would now ban this service, people would also turn to the black-market, and fetch their own private killer, who would work with his own, less clean methods, such as torturing the victim to death for example. Nevertheless, you have to prohibit murder, instead of making it legal. "The point is, that the foetus would not be able to survive alone" Neither is a new born child, an old man, or heavily injured patients, but they all have the same rights. |
