Message | Taxing profit is not socialist, socialist would be using those tax dollars to say, pay for health care, please get your information right. We agree that 20% may be too high, but see no reason to burden the government with a total lack of funds |

Message | I believe taxes should be only through sales tax. Which is different than this bill. |

Message | So you would rather tax a company that is running a loss? Since sales tax are before costs, and a tax on profit is after costs (less tax in this case). |

Message | No, with a sales tax, you are not taxing companies. You are taxing the sales of goods. The stuff a company buys for their business (like computers for example) would be taxed, but not their profits. By only using sales tax, people can control for theirself how much they are taxed. If you dont want to be taxed, dont buy anything. Or buy only cheap essential stuff. But thats all another subject. |

Message | We should tax the profit of corporations, not apply that cost to the people. If the corporations raise prices in response, they raise profits and raise the amount of money taken away. it is an important tool in keeping prices down. |

Message | I dont see how it would keep prices down. If they raise prices they still make more money. Not taxing them would keep prices down since they would need less to make a profit. |

Message | Why would they limit their profit making? That makes no sense, they would charge what the market can bear, regardless of how they are taxed. |

Message | Yes, but sales tax is applied to the consumer. Profit tax is only to the business and cannot be effectively applied to the consum,er. |
