MessageIt seems strange to me, to use an animal to test a cosmetic product. Nonetheless, I'd have to vote against this. The government shouldn't legislate on it.

MessageBecause the market will decide? Many people already buy products only if they haven't been tested on animals.

Instead of creating a costly bureaucracy, lets just help raise awareness, so that the people will take care of the problem with their dollars.

MessageI think the People's Party has a more workable solution than an outright ban. Perhaps restrictions on advertising - namely, requiring animal-testing corporations to state themselves as such in some way.

MessageInteresting points there. I suppose the difference is whether you feel it is a moral issue or not. (not a comment on your opinion, an observation on how we are all approaching it)

MessageIt is a moral issue, but don't most laws have their basis in moral values?

From

MessagePossibly, I can see that being valid as an argument actually.

MessageIts obviously a moral issue, but here's the problem: there are two ways to reach the same results, and one one is less expensive. I don't think its wise to go for the one that is more expensive.

We could use that money elsewhere...
