WHEREAS, the Aldurian Republic currently has made legal the production, construction, storing, and use of nuclear weaponry NOTING, that such weaponry is to be used only as a last resort, with dire domestic and international consequences anticipated for any use of nuclear arms. Also NOTING that Nuclear Research has proven useful in fields other than warfare, and may continue to do so. WHEREAS, it is also the opinion of the Republic that despite their abhorrance of nuclear warfare, the worst-case scenario calls for it to be availabe as an option Therefore, let it be: RESOLVED, that the Aldurian Republic shall officially denounce the use of Nuclear Weaponry, and shall not undertake in the production of any such weapons. Let if further be RESOLVED that the Defense Ministry shall be prohibited from considering the creation of a Nuclear Arsenal, unless there is a declaration of war against the Republic by a nation which has use of the Nuclear Weapon. |

Message | While the Moderates agree with the Communist proposal in principle, we feel that a directive prohibiting use of the weapon, unless in a scenario where it may be used against us, while allowing nuclear research to continue, may be the best course of action. Thoughts? |
