Bill: Resolution calling for a truce with the Union
Details
Submitted by[?]: Christian Democratic Alternative
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: May 2396
Description[?]:
The CDA thinks a truce is in order with the Union, considering the fact that not a single shot has been fired yet. The truce would allow for negotiations to be conducted with the Union about Hutori's future. The CDA will settle for nothing less but total and irrevocable independence for Hutori and hopes other parties think likewise. This resolution, if accepted, will give the government of Hutori the authority to agree on a truce with the Union and to act on behalf of Hutori in negotiations with the Union. |

Message | We agree. We will continue to station our troops on the borders though. |

Message | We shall not surrender, which is effectively what this is. We legitimately pulled out of the Union. They declared war on us, breaking international agreements. We cannot bow down. |

Message | We still have to add that we're really getting tired of negotiating with the Vice-president. We think that there's not much left to discuss about. It seems that they won't dare to attack anyway. And we already made clear, that there can't be a compromise for Hutori. |

Message | There is no further negotiations to be done. The Union is dead to us. Hutori is and shall remain sovereign. We shall not get ourselves involved in such a union again. We shall fight to defend ourselves but nothing further. Its a shame that the union members feel we owe them something. |

Message | The CDA points out in the preamble of this bill that full and irrevocable independence is the only acceptable outcome. But for negotiations to this effect to begin the war must end first. Davostan already considers a cease-fire is in effect right now. This resolution merely calls upon the formalisation of this cease-fire. It will allow us to open a new "Conference" thread in the Particracy forum. Have look at this: http://www.takeforum.com/particracy/viewtopic.php?p=143023&mforum=particracy#143023 |

Random fact: Parties have the ability to endorse another party's candidate for the Head of State election (if there is one). This adds a strategic element to the elections. |
Random quote: The Wolfsheim Virus is not a real actual disease in the conventional medical sense of the term. Rather, it is a cluster of symptoms which are just part of the general socio-economic disease that is capitalism. The main symptoms the sufferers are experiencing are a direct result of capitalist poverty, as in malnutrition, poor housing and so on, combined with psycho-somatic symptoms which are a direct consequence of the contradictions and stresses which are inherent to the capitalist system. ~ Friedrich Pfeiffer, General Secretary of the Dorvish Communist Party |
