These messages have been posted to debate on this bill:
Date | 13:56:36, April 29, 2007 CET | From | Kirlawan Popular Front | To | Debating the KPF 2396/3 - Church & State |
Message | All this does is to stop people from blurring religion and the secular sphere. This does not infringe on the right to wear religious symbols by private citizens, and indeed public officials can wear what they like - when not on time paid for by the state. |
Date | 11:06:09, April 30, 2007 CET | From | Christian Democratic Alliance | To | Debating the KPF 2396/3 - Church & State |
Message | We oppose this bill as it reinforces anti-religious attitudes in this nation and weakens the position of public officials to practice their religion. Current legislation & regulations are adequate in this respect. |
