Message | Labor does not object in principle to local governments being able to fund sports clubs, but certainly doesn't endorse the idea of the national government spending tax payer's money on such clubs. We therefore have no particular objections to the bill, however, we note with some distress the somewhat trivial nature of the SLP's bill, given all the important work still to be done in Deltaria. |

Message | The Liberal Democrats support this bill for a reason that the Labor Party has apparently missed. If local sports are encouraged by local governments, the likelihood of our children becoming involved in extracurricular activities is heavily increased. Schools will no doubt benefit from such an allowance, for local governments and local school boards are likely to divert funds to improving school sports activities. In short, the passing of this bill will allow a safer, more fit, and happier Deltaria. |

Message | OOC: Knoot, could you please wait until other people get a chance to say something? Siri did the same thing by moving her National Animal Act to vote too quickly, and it was defeated because nobody got a say in anything. I support this, but I don't know how popular it will be. Just a friendly request. :) |

Message | Labor will vote for this bill because we feel it will be of some small benefit to national fitness in the coming years, but we do not feel that it will be of as significant a benefit as the Medical Standards Act would be. Labor encourages the Social Liberal Party to support the Medical Standards Act. |

Message | OOC: Sorry. I waited a bit for people to respond and there was no response despite the fact that other issues (immigration etc. *were*, in fact, being discussed. Maybe I was a bit too fast this time, but I figured that - given your initial responses - sports were quite an innocent subject. You are right though, and I will wait a bit longer with other proposals. IC: We will duly consider the Medical Standards Act pending positive responses to our suggested amendements. |

Random fact: "OOC", "IC" and "IG" are commonly-used acronyms in Particracy. "OOC" refers to comments, discussions and actions which are out-of-character, meaning they are done player-to-player rather than party-to-party. "IC" refers to in-character interactions (ie. party-to-party). Similarly, "IG" means in-game, although this term may also simply refer to what happens in the actual game interface, as opposed to on the forum or elsewhere. "RP" just means "role-play". |
