Bill: Education in Prisons
Details
Submitted by[?]: Party Royale
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: December 2402
Description[?]:
If our prisons are truly meant to rehabilitate criminals into productive members of society, then education must be an essential part of their reform. Convicted criminals who have received some degree of education or career training during their time in prison are far less likely to commit additional crimes and return to jail. This program will lower the government's costs overall by reducing the number of people in prison, while providing people with a second chance. |

Message | Education for the scum of society? For all they care they can be as dumb as they want, because they deserve it. |

Message | We agree with the CP. Committ a crime and get a free education? Why not just promote rape, robbery and murder to get free financial aid! The MLP fought long and hard to repeal this many years ago and we will stand opposed to it now. No, no and no! |

Message | By the help of education, we can make criminals conform to social norms. Yes! |

Message | By that logic, they should already be conformed to societal norms. After all, we have mandatory free schooling for K-12 education and a slew of social welfare programs for poor children ALREADY in place. If they aren't conforming enough to not break the law by ages 15, 16, 18 and 21, an education system in prison isn't going to help. |

Message | MLP is right, but in prisons there is a different system from normal education. There are good examples of such a policy. Our party is truely humanist and we look at situations human-centric. |
