Bill: Budget proposal of July 2403

Details

Submitted by[?]: Party of Moderates

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill proposes to change the allocation of funds in the budget. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 2405

Description[?]:

The Party of Moderates propose to adjust the government's spending budget to better address the economic and social situation of the Republic of Aldegar.

With the recent passing of a bill creating a voucher system within Aldegar as well as a bill significantly reducing the government's role in healthcare, a new budget is necesary. Some other, fairly minor, changes have been made as well.

MessageWe can't support this. We thinks that the education needs more money than 7,500,000,000 ACR maybe 9,000,000,000 ACR?

MessageWell, the change from a public school system to one with vouchers is quite a radical one that takes quite a bit of stress off the budget. Do you really think 9,000,000,000 ACR is necesary?

MessageThis is a brilliant budget proposal!
And to all parties concerned about the education funding, we would like to point out, as the PM have quite rightly stated, that the Educational Voucher System that Family First brought in recently will eliminate the nessecity for such a large budget for education. Essentially, we will only need to allow for a mere fraction of the previous figure in this new system, so now not only can we put money to better use, but we can also provide relief for tax-payers.
We would also like to remind the S.C.A.F.R, in regards to their concerns on health spending, that Family First's recent User-Pays Health System eliminates the nessecity for a health budget - the only things we need to allow for in health funding now is things such as government subsidies for people who cannot afford to pay for their own private healthcare.
The PM's budget intelligently displays and reflects the recent changes to our education and health systems, but does so in a moderate way, so as to allow for the gradual process of this large transition.
Not only has the spending in this budget proposal dropped signifigantly, but it also displays the benefit of the entirely private education and health systems - we now have plenty of money for other things. The coalition is relieving the burden on tax-payers whilst still being able to provide increased funding for crucial areas of the budget.
We salute the PM for a very comprehensive and intelligent budget. We will certainly support, and we urge every other party to do so also.

MessageAldegar is getting increasingly involved in foreign affairs. The Head of Government needs the extra cash to to show great hospitality to all the various dignitaries that now visit him.

MessageWe're going to take away funding from health care and education so that we can pay for more opulent parties for rich visitors? We can clearly not support this.

MessageBy dignitaries, I meant other heads of state and government officials who have the power to create trade deals with Aldegar or other important matters. We're not just inviting some people over for a party. Now then, we'd like the ACRP to respond to the debate here.

MessageWe feel that certain parties still do not fully understand the changes in this proposal -
As we have outlined previously in this discussion, budget cuts on health and education have been proposed because they are no longer relevant. The entire healthcare system, and the entire education system, will be made private, due to Family First's User-Pays Healthcare System and Educational Voucher System. There is no longer a need for much spending at all in these areas, because the public system is already being phased out. This financial benefit is one of the main reasons why Family First proposed private systems in the first place - tax payers will not need to pay nearly as much tax, and the government will have more money to spend on other areas, instead of needing to spend gross amounts on an inefficient public system.
We feel that some parties still do not understand this - any party that votes against this proposal clearly does not understand it. We ensure the electorate that this proposal will benefit everyone - the tax payers, the government, and the entire nation.
