Message | La minoría hispanohablante se opondrá vehementemente a esta propuesta de ley, y con ella el WAM. |

Message | Optimism is a moral duty, so chill |
Date | 20:21:20, May 21, 2007 CET | From | Ikradonian Interest | To | Debating the Taalhervorming |
Message | Besides, we don't wish to promote the use of dutch, it would ruin the game. We just express the wishes of the dutch speaking majority. |
Date | 20:53:33, May 21, 2007 CET | From | Bicky Forever - MSCC | To | Debating the Taalhervorming |
Message | Maybe there is a dutch speaking majority in this game, but without us, you don't get the required two-thirds. |

Message | please clarify this statement BF, kind of ambigious |
Date | 21:57:08, May 21, 2007 CET | From | Bicky Forever - MSCC | To | Debating the Taalhervorming |
Message | For the two-thirds that you need, you need the support of us (BF) and FFP. |
Date | 22:13:03, May 21, 2007 CET | From | Ikradonian Interest | To | Debating the Taalhervorming |
Message | I can only hope FFP recognizes the fact that the dutch speaking parties, though in discontent lately, have gained substantial political ground. Backed up by the dutch speaking majority this can be no big surprise for any real democrat. |

Message | We dissociate us from IB's point of view. We do not support such a form of cultural or linguistic imperialism. For changes like these, two-thirds are needed (which is a good fact), which means a simple majority doesn't count. |
Date | 22:46:59, May 21, 2007 CET | From | Ikradonian Interest | To | Debating the Taalhervorming |
Message | Yes we should simply ignore a 'simple' majority which has been ignored for the last 12 years and talk ourselves out of it with some cheap arguments. |
Date | 23:12:21, May 21, 2007 CET | From | Bicky Forever - MSCC | To | Debating the Taalhervorming |
Message | We reject any form of cultural or linguistic imperialism. The official language, the language of communication is English in Ikradon and remains English! Therefore, we will vote "no"! We agree with WAM: minorities are right when they oppose such proposals loud and clearly. The majority to which IB is refering to, isn't there because of a language. So even if two players (is that a majority???) speak the same language and speak the same language, doesn't mean they must overrule everyone else when they've got the chance to do so. I don't think these are cheap arguments. And I don't think IB even has a point: even if we both vote "yes", none of these proposals will pass. So please explain what you want to reach with this silly bill. |

Message | I can strategicly understand BF wants to take the opportunity to create a linguistic trendline. We of II however don't wish to see this happen since it will only drop its shadow on future government. The appointment of English as the urbi et orbi of any communication is another nice pointer. What we try to reach? Acknowledgement for the majority of the people by translating symbolic names into their mothertongue. |
Date | 23:47:32, May 21, 2007 CET | From | Bicky Forever - MSCC | To | Debating the Taalhervorming |
Message | But that doesn't make sense at all. As soon as another couple of players, having a majority in parliament, wants to change all these names in Turkish or Danish, you will help them to gain the two-tirds? |
Date | 23:52:28, May 21, 2007 CET | From | Ikradonian Interest | To | Debating the Taalhervorming |
Message | Yes we would, one may never forget parties have their roots among the population... |
Date | 00:03:57, May 22, 2007 CET | From | Bicky Forever - MSCC | To | Debating the Taalhervorming |
Message | From earlier experiences, we have little reason to trust IB's words. Furthermore, voting "yes" is useless as long as FFP doesn't vote "yes" too. But if you insist, you may bring it to vote, and our generosity will give you one last chance: we are prepared to trust you and vote "yes" from the moment FFP agrees with it. When FFP thinks the minorities' interests will find in a crush with this proposal (as we do, but we're not a minority and in your point of view, FFP is...), we will vote "no" with much more pleasure! |

Message | Actually, the language of Ikradon's cultural heritage is Ikradonian, which is the language used in all official government documents, National Congress discourse, and is the language in which we are currently communicating. |

Message | Holding on too that romantic idea won't solve the situation at hand. |
Date | 18:32:09, May 22, 2007 CET | From | Lyika ati Isá»dá»tun | To | Debating the Taalhervorming |
Message | With all respect, the situtation you describe is a non-issue. We do not plan to vote for this amendment, nor do we foresee a future situation in which this reorientation of Ikradon's linguistic heritage might be effected. |

Message | The linguistic trendline is set, no turning back now boys :( |
Date | 22:49:03, May 22, 2007 CET | From | Lyika ati Isá»dá»tun | To | Debating the Taalhervorming |
Message | We have seen no data to support the IB's claims. What, by the way, is a "linguistic trendline"? |
Date | 08:23:49, May 23, 2007 CET | From | Ikradonian Interest | To | Debating the Taalhervorming |
Message | Pretty much the result of artificial prisons, enough examples in history. All these lines started with denial of majorityrights by a government who refuses to check in with the man in the street. |

Message | I have no idea what you're trying to say. What is an "artificial prison"? |
