Message | We will not support a treaty which restricts our nation's ability to pursue its own economic policy. The terms of this treaty will, for instance, prevent us from granting subsidies or favouring national firms in the awarding of government contracts. James Underdown (Leader of the Opposition) |

Message | That's abolutely false and you know it. Nowhere in the treaty does it say such things as that. The purpose of this treaty is to excercise free trade, and over 18 nations have begun the ratification process. You're going to turn Greater Hulstria into the laughing stock of the world and ruin all of the work that both Adriaan van Grootfontein and the foreign ministries of other nations have put into making this treaty a reality. This is for OUR benefit and not ratifying it slaps the nations who did ratify it in the face. |

Message | Perhaps you should pay attention to the members of your own government who are voting against this treaty before you start upbraiding the opposition? James Underdown (Leader of the Opposition) |
