Message | This is a joke right, you will allow guns out on the street while our police force has to carry around "non-lethal" weapons. Further we are all in favor of the gunfree society. |
Date | 19:00:46, May 23, 2007 CET | From | Iqembu Sokusebenzisana Yeningi | To | Debating the First FRUIT Manifesto -- Self-Defense |
Message | We are more concerned about the individual's right to self-defense than the maintenance of order. A "gun-free" society has proven unworkable as criminals will smuggle in guns regardless of the laws and social norms. If IB wishes to change the police laws, it i welcome to make its own proposal. We have made these proposals because we feel the right of individual Ikradonians to protect themselves from violence and tragedy, is paramount. |
Date | 19:31:33, May 23, 2007 CET | From | Ikradonian Interest | To | Debating the First FRUIT Manifesto -- Self-Defense |
Message | So instead of arming our police force to fight crime, you propose to let the citizen to take matters in their own hands? Further we find the assumption that self-defence involves weapons de facto simply wrong. |
Date | 22:08:40, May 25, 2007 CET | From | Tomorrow Party | To | Debating the First FRUIT Manifesto -- Self-Defense |
Message | The Tomorrow Party finds it absurd that citizens would be allowed to carry firearms - unless, of course, they are tasked with defending Ikradon, in which case they should refrain from use of those weapons. While the idea of allowing self-defense rights to citizens is justified, these rights should be given to police as well. |

Random fact: Players who consent to a particular role-play by acknowledging it in their own role-play cannot then disown it or withdraw their consent from it. For example, if player A role-plays the assassination of player B's character, and player B then acknowledges the assassination in a news post, but then backtracks and insists the assassination did not happen, then he will be required under the rules to accept the validity of the assassination role-play. |
