Message | This is an infringement upon rights, not to mention costly to enforce. It also represents the loss of a powerful crime deterent - the people themselves! It is a step towards a statist government that I can't support. |

Message | It does not have to be costly to enforce at all. There is no proof either way that private gun ownership deters crime - you can make a good case for or against that. However it does mean that you have to accept a very high accidental death rate, including amongst children. |

Message | yes, guns kill far far more people acidentally and in attack than in defense. |

Message | You won't lower the number of gun attack deaths, only the number of gun defense deaths and accidental deaths. I think that licenses are a good idea - that way, we are certain that everyone who owns a gun is trained in using it. That prevents accidental deaths without affecting crime rates either way. |

Random fact: Moderation will not accept Cultural Protocol updates which introduce, on a significant scale, cultures which are likely to be insufficiently accessible to players. In particular, for all significant cultures in Particracy, it should be easy for players to access and use online resources to assist with language translation and the generation of character names. Moderation reserves the right to amend Cultural Protocols which are deemed to have introduced significant cultures that are not sufficiently accessible and which are not being actively role-played with. |
