Bill: Lengthening of debate
Details
Submitted by[?]: Kellarly Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 2037
Description[?]:
In this Bill I propose that Bills should remain under debate until at least 3 parties have commented upon them, therefore allowing the vast majority of active parties to see the Bills and have their own say in the debate. Going to vote before this should be criticised and may lead to a no vote. Amendment 1: Each party shall have two vetos per term in office. This will allow them to try and force a Bill through, and it must be declared as such in the Bills description. However these must still remain open for debate for at least 3 months before being put to the vote. Amendment 2: Although commenting is not compulsary, it would be noted that in the spirit that this country should be ruled in, it would be considered beneficial for inter party relations. |

Message | We would like to propose a friendly amendment giving each party the opportunity to push two bills through without waiting (per administration), as this gives each party a bit of room for political maneuvering. We also ask for a good-faith guarantee for all parties that this proviso would not be abused by deliberately withholding comment on bills in order to prevent their coming to a vote. Given these understandings, we'd support this bill. |

Message | A slight alteration made. I have now included a minimum 3 month (ooc: game time) debate time for Bills that want to be pushed through by the governing party. |

Message | We appreciate the Kellarly Party's spirit in considering our concerns ... we plan to vote for this bill as it currently stands ... and voluntarily commit to observe its strictures with regard to our pending proposals before this bill passes. |

Message | Many thanks. I have tried to make it as fair as possible and I hope all parties will consider this a Law if it Passes. I merely await the Socialist Parties agreement before I put this to vote. |
