Bill: Kregon Farmers Relief Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: United Republics Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 2413
Description[?]:
Kregon farmers that use genetically modified crops aren't able to sell them because of "health concerns." These products are perfectly safe, however listing them on food labels has convinced many that they are dangerous. Removing these warnings will be a windfall for farmers across Lodamun but especially in Kregon. |
Proposals
Article 1

Current: Any chemicals used in agrigulture or processing, and any GM ingredients must be listed.
Proposed: There is no requirement to disclose GM ingredients, or chemicals used in agrigulture or processing.

Message | Passing this is like taking the worst case scenario about everything that can go wrong with capitalism. This is reckless and irresponsible. I'm sincerely glad I don't have farming lobbyists to pander to. |

Message | This is one of the dumbest ideas I've seen yet. |
Date | 14:34:27, June 13, 2007 CET | From | Lodamun Liberal-Conservative Party | To | Debating the Kregon Farmers Relief Act |
Message | We prefer the status-quo - it is hardly an unnessicary requirement of manufacturers that they list GM ingrediants, for the purposes of those opposed to their consumption, such as religious individuals, or for those who simply perceive them to be a health risk. This is hardly too much to ask, and we percieve it to be of no consequence to the manufacturers involved whatsoever. We cannot support. |
