MessageNever! Space is not profitable enough yet, so there aren't enough firms out there. The public sector needs to lay the groundwork, until costs get low enough for the private sector to play a role - just as with civil aircraft, or the internet. Then, and only then, can we conquer space.

MessageWe disagree, space launches can be a profitable business and private companies may have the possibility to further innovate and exploit future possibilities which government controlled institutions are well known to be gravely inefficient with.

The government will have a hand in directing and driving space exploration, but private companies will offer competitive offers to fulfill our dreams of space exploration. Private sector now drives research and development, not the government.
