Voting deadline: March 2414

There's no reason not to allow children to work of their own under strict regulations that prevent employer abuse. Allowing children to work would prepare them for adulthood and improve the economic status of households in general, contributing to the society as a whole.

MessageThe DLUP is concerned that this would cause a flood of workers into "lower skilled" professions that would reduce overall wages and would weaken the trade unions in such industries. We would consider such a bill if it were proposed in coordination with a stricter labourers' protection bill. If there is considerable support for the Workers’ Protection Act III, then we would consider supporting the legislation. Such we will abstain for now until we get a feel for the WPAIII.
