Message | People should be able to decide if they want to have an identity card. But still they should be required to carry a card that states the race of the citizen/national. |

Message | We agree that under normal circumstances this should be the case, but in the current state of affairs in Greater Hulstria, we feel that this measure is prudent and necessary. |

Message | Requiring citizens and nationals to carry identity cards, especially combined with the Population Registration Act, will allow for us to keep track of potential terrorists and criminals (i.e. the Mormons and Gishotoi) without too much of an infrigement on personal rights of law-abiding nationals. This will also decrease frustration with having to supply seperate identification when required to do so by private businesses, government agencies, and other groups where it might be necessary. |

Message | Convincing enough, I should say, though this won't be very good for my voting records and my visibility-stuff. |

Message | Statement from the Prime Minister: "Desperate times call for desperate measures. I presided over Greater Hulstria during the last Gishotoi uprising. We fell to communism within the following few months, and almost lost our monarchy in the process. I don't want to repeat that." OOC: Greene is only one of three PMs we've had in the last...35 or so years since the position was created. He's held it except for about 7 years of that. :D |
Date | 04:06:36, June 16, 2007 CET | From | Crown Loyalists | To | Debating the Hulstrian Identity Establishment (HIDE) Act 2414 |
Message | The Crown Loyalists must point out that the only reason the Gishotoi are potential Enemies of the Kaiser is because of the policy of Apartheid. That is not to say the Crown Loyalists would ever support extralegal measures taken against the Kaiser or his Loyal Subject, however we do understand the reasons for such things. With that aside, there are many reasons to vote no for this particular piece of legislation, both ethical and practical, so that is what the Crown Loyalists will do. |
