Message | We must decline our support. Covert operations are often more effective and less expensive in terms of money and human lives on both sides than open military operations. We should reserve the right to conduct these operations. Although, we agree that we should show restraint as well. |
Date | 05:55:36, June 21, 2007 CET | From | Teleurstelling Party | To | Debating the Covert Operations Act |
Message | Indeed. The word used is "intelligence" I see no logic in limiting it. |
Date | 09:22:21, June 21, 2007 CET | From | Luthori Christian Women's Association | To | Debating the Covert Operations Act |
Message | "All types of covert operations" naturally includes things such as assasination, blackmail, spreading false information and corruption. Belinda Braithwaite (Leader of the LCWA) |
Date | 15:05:20, June 21, 2007 CET | From | Secular Party | To | Debating the Covert Operations Act |
Message | If it can prevent open war with huge amounts of death, then isn't it worth it? |
Date | 16:55:09, June 21, 2007 CET | From | Imperial Vodka and Pimm's Party | To | Debating the Covert Operations Act |
Message | This is a ridiculous and treacherous bill meant to undermine the Holy Empire's national security. |
Date | 17:52:18, June 21, 2007 CET | From | Luthori Christian Women's Association | To | Debating the Covert Operations Act |
Message | If our spies mess around in other countries, the spies of other countries will mess around in our country. Belinda Braithwaite (Leader of the LCWA) |
Date | 21:15:02, June 21, 2007 CET | From | Imperial Vodka and Pimm's Party | To | Debating the Covert Operations Act |
Message | That's a rather simplified view. I'm sure enemy and even friendly states will conduct intelligence operations in our country regardless of our policies. We need an effective intelligence agency to take preventative action. |

Random fact: Any RP law granting extraordinary "emergency powers" or dictator-like powers to a government must be passed by at least a 2/3rds majority, but (like all RP laws) may always be overturned by a simple majority vote of the legislature. |
