Message | We cannot support this bill, not least because it introduces more articles than it requires to pass it's stated aims and attempts to hide the effects of additional proposals which are not, in any way, linked to its stated aims. Moreover, the removal of the ability for a religion to advertise its wares to the public contravenes its rights as a business. All businesses are allowed to advertise their products, so why single out religions as being contrary to that law? Religions pay taxes on their profits like any other business yet this law attempts to stifle the religions marketing campaigns whilst also reducing the governments income through taxation as profits fall due to the increased difficulty in reaching other faiths and those of no denomination. We also see the destruction of Hobrazias history and morality by the removal of our state religion. Membership is already voluntary so we see no reason why we should remove its official position of being state religion and this can only harm Hobaism whilst providing for no improvements in either rights for our population nor gains in general freedoms. |

Random fact: Cabinet ministers who disagree seriously with the head of government would usually be expected to resign. Parties within the cabinet may attempt to manoeuvre to replace the head of government though, for example by proposing a new cabinet bill or voting for an early election. |
