Message | I must comment on this as Foreign Minister of Telamon. Firstly, we are deeply offended that you believe us likely to attack/invade should you withdraw, we point out for the sake of clarity that it was Davostan that was the main proponent of attacking Hutori after its unilateral withdrawal, not Telamon. As I believe I stated previously, union institutions have been suspended for the duration of discussions on a new union constitution and as such the current one is largely void anyway so there is not a problem with you withdrawing from it. Finally, I say that the union is not defunct, and I recall quite recently inviting Davostan to participate in discussions on a new union constitution which are ongoing. I apologised that Davostan was not told about this earlier but did inform you all that a draft constitution had been proposed and invited parties to comment on it, of which non did (for information purposes I renew the offer and point out once again that the details of the proposed constitution can be found at http://www.unitedcommonwealthalliance.co.uk/maconconstitution3.pdf). I reiterate the position of the Telamonian government which is that we want to agree a new union constitution and we want a union which works, but it has to have the broad agreement and support of the majority of parties in each Macon nation, otherwise it is unworkable. Clearly we would like to work with you to create a new constitution and to build a strong Macon in which we can all cooperate together, however if Davostan no longer wishes to be a part of such a union then it only has to say so and we will not stand in your way, but we would greatly appreciate it if the government of Davostan would communicate with us on this, something which so far it has failed to do. Message | The PLS is responsible for this lack of negotiations. |
Date | 15:39:23, June 23, 2007 CET | From | Partido Laborista Socialista | To | Debating the Independence of Davostan / Leaving the Union of Macon |
Message | The PLS, after having read the proposed constitution, felt that the Union was incapable of maintaining itself due to the number of concessions made only to Hutori, clearly showing the weakness of the Union. |

Message | This is of no use to us. If you had really desired to keep us, we would not have been left out the loop. Since the other nations in Macon are clearly not bothered about Davostan, Davostan shall act in kind to the other nations of Macon. |

Message | That wasn't the case as I explained. The MNP in Hutori were originally the main driving force in creating a new union, we were simply the main players involved in liasing with other parties in Telamon. It was only after the MNP deactivated themselves that I really took it all over. I had understood from the MNP that they had told parties in Davostan and that a similar discussion was taking place. It was only when I looked on your nation page as i felt it was time to bring the discussions together that i discovered that this had not been the case and as you saw i moved to rectify that. (OOC: I have myself been very busy recently with the end of term at uni etc. so i can't be expected to be glued to my computer screen all day). The proposed treaty is not one which is finalised and which you need to say yes or no to (incase i had not made that clear) but a suggestion to which i would like your comments on what you think is good and what you would like to see changed and what you would like to replace it with. Davostan does matter to us, Davostan has always been a key player in the union and witthout it a new union will not happen. I very much want you to participate in taking this project forward and i hope that you will decide to discuss the treaty and to engage in the process. If not, well that is your right - it is up to you |
